WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our fundamental beliefs include the following: ·
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, and that it is applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit: distinguishable but indivisible
We believe in the sinfulness of humankind. Sin has created broken relationships with God and with others. We believe that the only atonement for sin is through repentance and faith in the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
We believe that Christ, the eternal God, took on the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again in demonstration of His victory and to empower us for life.
We believe in the resurrection of Jesus, in His ascension into heaven, and His priestly intercession.
We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the equipping of believers and His accompanying gifts and fruits.
We believe in the power and importance of the local church, with Christ Jesus as the Chief Corner Stone. We believe that the church has been entrusted with the ordinances of water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
We believe that all people are made in the image of God. As such, we believe in the equality and essential dignity of men and women of all ethnicities, ages and classes.
We believe that God has uniquely equipped individuals to fulfill His purpose for their lives. Therefore, we are to use these God-given gifts to worship the Lord and develop those gifts for personal, family, community and global benefit.
We believe in the glorious return of Christ. We believe there will be a resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved, and that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
